Young Writers Conference
for Grades 4-9
Co-sponsored by the Redwood Writing Project, the Humboldt County Office
of Education, the Humboldt Reading Council, and the Redwood Council of Teachers
of English.

Registration Fee:
$40 if received by May 3, 2010. After May 3, please plan to
register onsite; a $5 late fee applies to
on-site registration.
Conference T-Shirt: $5

payable to "Redwood Writing Project" or "RWP."
Application Deadline:
May 3, 2010.
Please note that the early registration fee of $40 ($45 with t-shirt purchase)
can apply only to applications received by May 3. After May 3, online
application is still available, but a $5 late fee applies. Participants may also register on-site:
again, a $5.00 late-registration fee will
apply, and participants will not be guaranteed their workshop choices.
This is still a very good option, however.

Application Form
Print a
copy of the schedule for yourself; bring it to the conference.
All writers may attend four workshops. You may attend
either a) three Writing Workshops and one Art Workshop or b) four
Writing Workshops. When you complete your application, please select five choices from these Writing
Workshops, numbered in your order of preference (if you do not want an
Art Workshop, choose six):
Also on your application,
please select one choice from these Art Workshops. If you are not interested in
any of the Art Workshops, please select a sixth choice from the
Writing
Workshops listed above.
We encourage
you to register and pay online.
However, if you prefer to register by mail, please follow
this link (unavailable after May 3). Please note that the online
registration and payment process involves two steps.

Once you have completed your payment, you will be
directed to a new page that provides the registration form. Before you
sign off, please be sure to complete that form and then hit the "Send" button at
the bottom of that final page. Thank you.

We apologize for the inconvenience and
urge you to take advantage of online registration
instead. You are also welcome to register onsite.
Please
note that refunds are available only upon RWP cancellation of the
event. If an emergency prevents a registrant from attending, all but the
non-refundable portion can be applied toward a future RWP event.

Volunteers Needed!
Parent, teachers, and friends of writing: do you want to help with the
Young Writers Conference? Volunteers are needed to teach
workshops, help with registration, supervise an Author's Chair,
distribute anthologies and t-shirts, set up lunch for the presenters,
and assist students with finding their classes. Please contact
