Young Writers Conference for Grades 4-9
Co-sponsored by the Redwood Writing Project, the Humboldt County Office of Education, the Humboldt Reading Council, and the Redwood Council of Teachers of English.

 

When: Saturday, May 8, 2010

 

Where: Humboldt State University Campus

 

What to Bring: Your own sack lunch, writing materials, and a copy of the schedule

 

Registration Fee: $40 if received by May 3, 2010.  After May 3, please plan to register onsite; a $5 late fee applies to on-site registration.

 

Conference T-Shirt: $5

 

Please make checks payable to "Redwood Writing Project" or "RWP."

 

Application Deadline: May 3, 2010.  Please note that the early registration fee of $40 ($45 with t-shirt purchase) can apply only to applications received by May 3.  After May 3, online application is still available, but a $5 late fee applies.  Participants may also register on-site: again, a $5.00 late-registration fee will apply, and participants will not be guaranteed their workshop choices.  This is still a very good option, however.

Conference Schedule:
  • 8:30-9:00 Registration in Founders Hall Foyer

  • 9:00-10:10 Session I

  • 10:15-11:25 Session II

  • 11:25-12:00 Lunch

  • 12:00-1:10 Session III

  • 1:15-2:25 Session IV

Print a copy of the schedule for yourself; bring it to the conference.

 

 
Workshops:
All writers may attend four workshops. You may attend either a) three Writing Workshops and one Art Workshop or b) four Writing Workshops.  When you complete your application, please select five choices from these Writing Workshops, numbered in your order of preference (if you do not want an Art Workshop, choose six):

We apologize for the inconvenience and urge you to take advantage of online registration instead.   You are also welcome to register onsite. 

Please note that refunds are available only upon RWP cancellation of the event.  If an emergency prevents a registrant from attending, all but the non-refundable portion can be applied toward a future RWP event.

Volunteers Needed!
